Ballarat is a city located about 110 km northwest of Melbourne City, with a population of about 110,000.
The city is rich in history, observable in the 19th-century villas, Victorian terraces, Federation homes and Georgian red brick homes.

Sovereign Hill is Ballarat’s biggest tourism destination and is consistently rated among one of the best open-air, outdoor museums in the world.
This museum not only displays the story of Australia’s gold rush history but brings it to life.
Underground Mine Tour
You can visit the Gold Mine and board the mine cart to journey deep below Sovereign Hill for an exciting underground experience. Come and have a feel of life as a miner in the past; understand the hardships and challenges of the gold rush era.
Gold Panning
Gold panning is a form of traditional mining that extracts gold from a placer deposit using a pan, popular because of its low cost and simplicity. Shovels and pans are all ready for you to use along the stream.
Horse-Drawn Coach
We will be staying at this outdoor museum for about 4 hours. If you are tired of walking and need a rest, you can easily board the horse-drawn coach and take a relaxing ride to tour this historical town.
Gold Pouring
The gold pouring demonstration is not to be missed. This demonstration showcases the transformation of raw gold into a gleaming, pure gold ingot.
Confectionary Demo
Traditional confectionery goes back to ancient times. The local confectioner will demonstrate the process of making simple yet delicious lollies.
You can also purchase some of these lollies in the candy shop.
Musket Firing Demo
A musket is a long, muzzle-loaded gun that was used as a weapon in the early 16th century; capable of penetrating heavy armour. Rifles became common in 1835, resulting in the retirement of muskets.
Geelong Beach
Geelong is the second most populous urban city in Victoria, Australia. This beach is backed by the grassy slopes of Eastern Beach Reserve and has a 200m long, circular swimming enclosure toward its eastern end. There are also some weird and wonderful statues around the area.
